What is Electronic Smoking ?

Electronic Smoking ( or e-smoking ) uses a special non-flammable electronic atomising device incorporating the most advanced microelectronic and physical atomization technology, to atomize high purity nicotine, which is extracted from natural tobacco, to produce a physical experience satisfyingly similar to smoking a standard cigarette but without the health risks or the illegailties of smoking in pubs, restaurants and other public buildings where the smoking ban is in force.

Baffled ? In other words is just like having a fag. BUT............

  • The electronic cigarette contains no tar or other carcinogenic substances or other ingredients harmful to the human body.
  • You never light the e-ciggy so you eliminate the danger of releasing the 4000 or so chemical substances associated with smoking an ordinary cigarette, in particular there is no carbon monoxide released.
  • No second hand smoking - harmless to others around you and harmless to the evironment in general.
  • There is no risk of fire. It is asolutely safe to use in most No-Smoking evironments.
  • If following our Quit Smoking Plan you can achieve your desire to stop smoking without any of the normal wihdrawal sysmptoms associated with quitting. It even addresses the dilemma that most quitters face of "what to do with your hands"

The components of an e-cigarette.

An e-cigarette is composed of three main parts.

  1. The Nicotine Cartridge. A replaceable cartridge that contains the special nicotine compound. The cartridges are avaialble in high strength, medium strength, low strength and No Nicotine versions. By gradually using lower strength cartridges as a controlled aproach to Nicotine Replacement Therapy it is possible over time to reduce the desire to smoke until you are able to quit smoking completely. It does not contain any ingredents harmful to the hman body such as tar and other carinogenic substances. Cartridges are available in packs of 50 from our online shop.
  2. The Atomizer. The secret to the electronic smoking system is the special atomizer section that converts the liquid nicotine into the 'Smoke' that you inhale and exhale and procudes the realistic smoking experience so lacking in other quit smoking products. Spare atomizers are available form our online shop
  3. The Battery. The rechargeable 3.6v lithium battery screws into the atomizer and provides the power for the whole system. The e-cigarette is supplied with a UK charger and USB charger lead and can operate on any voltage from 110-240 volts so you can take it on your world travels. As the charger lead has a USB connector it is also possible to recharge the battery in the car using a 12v USB DIN connector, supplied seperately. Replacment batteries are available from our onlien shop.

How to use an Electronic Cigarette.

3 easy steps to assemble :-

The electronic cigarette comes ready assembled but it is useful to familiarise yourself with its general assembly to faciliate recharging and cartridge changing.

  • Step 1. Screw the battery component onto the front end of the atomizing device by screwing it in clockwise ( to the right )
  • Step 2. Unpack the nicotine cartridge and remove the sealing cap off the end.
  • Step 3. Push the nicotine cartridge firmly into the atomizer body.

You are now ready to start enjoying the experience of smoking in all your favourite places and social ocassions without breaking the law.

To 'smoke' your electronic cigarette :-

Once assembled the e-cigarette is automatically in Stand-By Mode. You do not need to switch it on.

Place the cigarette in your mouth and inhale ( draw ) as if you were smoking a regular cigarette. The electronic circuits inside the device wil automatically switch on and the end of the cigarette batery will glow. Drawing on the cigarette starts the atomization process and releases the nicotine and the vapour (smoke) into you mouth. Once you stop inhaling the atomization process stops and the unit returns to stand-by mode.

Smokers normally take between 14-20 draws, or drags, on a regular cigarette, so it is recommended that you stop using the electronic cigarette after 14-20 puffs. You will, at that point, have inhaled the same amount of nicotine as you would when smoking a normal cigarette and should satisfy your craving. You should then wait to use the electronic cigarette until your carving returns, just as if you would reach for another cigarette. It is recommended that you leave at least half an hour between each use of the device.

Usage Tips :-

To avoid over frequent use of the device the indicator light on the end of the electronic cigarette will flash 10 times ( around four seconds ) if you puff more than 16 times in a minute.

If you inhale for more than five seconds the indicator light will flash 10 times ( around four seconds )

If the indicator light flashes continuously 30 times ( around nine seconds ) you need to recharge the battery.

The device has an inbuilt automatic cleaning function controlled by the micro-circuitry. Once the user has inhaled approximately 1500 times the unit will enter the self cleaning function during which the indictaor tip light will glow continuously for 20 seconds. It is not recommended to inhale from the device during this cleaning process.

Who should use an Electronic Cigarette ?

The e-cigarette is recommended for the following :-

  • Smokers of many years who wish to reduce the number of cigarettes they smoke.
  • People wishing to quit smoking permanently. This can be achieved by using the device with reducing the strength of the nicotine cartridges.
  • Smokers in non-smoking environments such as pubs, clubs, restaurants, the work place, buses, trains etc.

The e-cigarette is NOT recommended for the following :-

  • Anyone under the legal age for smoking.
  • Non smokers
  • People with nicotine sensitivity.
  • Pregnant and breast feeding women.
  • People who have been told by their Doctor to avoid nicotine.

IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL BEFORE UNDERTAKING ANY COURSE OF NICOTINE REPLACEMENT THERAPY.
