So what is it like smoking an Electronic Cigarette?
You have obviously arrived at this site because you are somehow interested in the alternatives to smoking regular cigarettes, or you're trying to quit or simply from plain old curiosity. So your quest for knowledge isn't disappointed I thought I would put down a few words on my own experiences of the e-fag, e-cig, e-ciggy, cyber-fag, electronic cigarette - call it what you will.
Now I am certainly not going to pretend for one moment that smoking is good for you as it's not, but the problem I always faced was that in fact I liked smoking and there really wasn't any non harmful substitute. I spend hours and hours a day sat at the computer, tapping away at the keys doing my job and have always tended to smoke whilst doing so. Everytime I tried the nicotine alternatives I found they just didn't give me the same feeling and satisfaction I got from a cigarette.
Having now tried the Electronic Cigarette I can honestly say its pretty close to smoking for real. Its better for my body and lungs, yet gives me roughly the same feelings I got from cigarettes. The biggest surprise I got when first inhaling was that "Oh My God - there's smoke to inhale and exhale " That was a heck of a surprise ! When you draw on the filter part the atomizer thingy produces a vapour that is similar to lit tobacco smoke, a vapour that you can breathe in and puff out through your mouth or nose just like regular tobacco. It tastes like tobacco plus you can also get different flavours like menthol and strawberry etc . You get a good "hit" on the back of your throat, just as if you had inhaled real smoke, and the nicotine is absorbed into your blood stream at the same rate as an ordinary fag and the room you are in doesn't fog up at all and certainly doesn't smell of tobacco smoke ( you're going to notice that the dog needs a bath as the whiff of him is no longer masked by your smoke ).
